A sashiko needle is used for Sashiko stitching. It is sharp enough to pierce several layers of fabric and strong enough not to deform due to continuous seams. Due to its length, at least 50mm, you are able to load several stitches at once,
Sashiko needles come in various lengths. Shorter needles are easier to handle, so they are a good choice for beginners or for when you are stitching curved lines. Longer needles let you load more stitches, so they are good for straight lines.
Pack of two sashiko needles from Olympus Thread Mfg Co, containing both a long and short needle.
Developed by Olympus to easily pierce the fabric, both needles have a very large eye to facilitate threading.
